About a year ago I began attempting to install a new software for blogs that has been available for only a couple of years. The software is called: “Write Freely,” and is one that has no installer such as the one you’re reading this article on but takes a lot more to get up and running asit is all “command line” to make it happen.
Now, I am no IT professional and codes take me quite a long time to understand much less make the code work. But, I am persistent and not timid about going for it when it comes to learning how computers work. After a few months and a ton of stitching together various renditions of this software’s code from all kinds of websites I did get a tutorial together that allows someone with a little knowledge of the terminal in Windows to build their own Write freely blog. If you’re up to it, it is here and it works like a charm if one pays rapt attention to what they’re doing.
I’ve included everything you need to know to build one yourselves but the caution is that you need a domain name and security certificate before you build it. In other words, you need to have a website and server to make it happen. Interested?
